DESCRIPTION:On this very challenging out-and-back hike (approximately 3.5 miles roundtrip with roughly 1\,400 feet of elevation gain)\, we will climb steep\, uneven terrain along the flanks of the Mayacams near Mt. Veeder. There is no established trail. Participants should expect difficult footing\, scrambling over volcanic rock\, and some light bushwhacking.

Starting at dusk\, the Observatory’s three main telescopes are open for your viewing. Docents set up additional telescopes in front of the building. Friendly and knowledgeable docents are available to answer your questions. $15.00 per adult; $10.00 for seniors 62+ and students; $5 youth 6 to 12; 5 and under FREE. (Plus State Park Parking Fee $10.00 per vehicle.)
