Signs of Spring? In early February? Yes! Join Certified California Naturalist Carolyn Greene on a couple of mostly level miles, being on the lookout for new growth in the forest, grasslands and chaparral – – life bursting forth after the welcome rains of winter. Expect to spot emerging wildflowers, singing birds, shy amphibians, new oak leaves, colorful mushrooms and buds everywhere – all responding to longer and warmer days of late winter.
General admission is $10, students, seniors, Sugarloaf members and Sugarloaf volunteers $5, and under 18 are free. Meet at 10am in the White Barn parking lot; return by noon. Bring lunch to enjoy after the hike as we share nature tales and be prepared to follow County Health guidelines such as physical distancing or/and mask wearing. Heavy rains cancel; parking fees apply.
