After the October 2017 Nun’s fire burned 80% of Sugarloaf, it took months of hard work to repair trails and facilities. Now, almost 2 years later, signs of the fire are masked by a vibrant recovery and renewal.
On this 3.5-mile, 2-hour hike from Creekside to Hillside and back through the meadow, we will explore these remarkable changes and talk a little about how the original peoples of this area used fire. We will also search for late summer wildflowers, butterflies and dragonflies.
We’ll depart from the main parking lot at 9 AM with return around 11 AM.
