Nature journaling helps you enjoy the natural world in a whole new way.  You can stay in one place, or take just a short hike, and see, hear, smell and touch more than you ever thought possible. Using words, numbers and drawings, you will learn to record your experiences in a way that works for YOU. There are no rules, but you’ll learn some tips to get you started. NO art “ability” necessary!

After an introduction to materials and methods, we will take about 30 minutes to explore around the Observatory and the White Barn to start recording our observations. Returning to the group camp, we will share what we’ve done and you will get a chance to try out some watercolor, colored pencils, watercolor pencils and drawing pencils. You are welcome to bring any other art supplies that you have, but just a pencil will do!

This event is accessible for those using wheelchairs or with limited mobility. Meet at the group camp parking area. Bring a notebook, water, sun protection, a snack, and if desired, bring a picnic to enjoy afterwards. A $10 parking fee is applicable.
